Spain proved their mettle once again as they emerged as the champion of the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris with a 5-3 over the host France.
The Thierry Henry lads had the best start to the game, with Enzo Millot putting the French in front in the 11th minute of play.
A quarter of an hour later, Barcelona talent Fermin Lopez had the ball in the net twice, and it was, therefore, a Spanish celebration at the Parc des Princes in the French capital.
And it got worse three minutes later when Alejandro Baena sent the ball into the box directly from a free kick.
In the second half, they gradually got closer to the Spanish goal, and after the crossbar had been in the way, Maghnes Akliouche managed to reduce in the 79th minute.
However, being ahead with minutes to go in a major tournament is something that Spain excelled at at the last European Championship, but this time they couldn’t handle the pressure.
In added time, France was awarded a penalty, which Jean-Philippe Mateta executed, which sent the game into extra time.
After ten minutes of added time, Sergio Camello got the ball into the net.
The rest of the extra time was close to ending goalless, but in the 120th minute, Camello scored once more to make the final score 5-3 on a free runner.
