After missing the opportunity to compete in the women’s 100 meters, Favour Ofili came back stronger in the 200 meters.
The name of the Nigerian sprinter was omitted from 100 meters and she was unable to compete for honors in the category.
Competing in the heat 6 of the women’s 200 meters, Ofili lived up to the billings as she came first in the heat.
She zoomed into the semi-final with the second-fastest time of 22.24 seconds, ahead of Asher Smith of Great Britain.
Only Gabby Thomas, competing in the other heat, ran better than the Nigerian with a time of 22.20 seconds.
