Team Nigeria wrestling started their campaign on a strong note with a comeback victory over a Canadian opponent.
Representing Nigeria, Blessing Oborodudu in the 68kg, struggled in the early part of the fight against Canada’s Linda Morris, losing 2 points.
But the Nigerian International star stormed back in the second half to score Six consecutive points, going on to win the match 8-2 on points.
The victory ensured that Oborodudu reached the quarter-final of the 68kg category.
Oborodudu remained one of the Team Nigeria medal hopefuls, having won Silver in the Tokyo 2020 Olympics and also clinching gold medals at the last African Games.
