Nigeria’s Super Falcons suffered a shocking defeat in their opening group game against Brazil on Thursday evening.
The game started with both sides trying to control the game, and Brazil gained momentum earlier than the Super Falcons.
Just before the half time, Gabi Nunes gave the South American giant the lead and they were able to protect it to end the half.
The 9-time African champions tried to come back in the second half, but they were unable to bridge the well-organized backline of Brazil.
Despite making changes in the later part of the game, Brazil ran away with a 1-0 victory.
