Nigeria international and Nottingham Forest defender Ola Aina will be sidelined until the end of the year after sustaining an injury during the Super Eagles’ World Cup qualifier against South Africa on Tuesday.
The 27-year-old was forced off in the 10th minute of the game, and subsequent scans confirmed he is unlikely to return before early December at the earliest.
Aina, who joined Forest from Torino in 2023, has featured in every minute of their Premier League campaign so far and was an integral part of Nuno Espírito Santo’s squad last season.
His lengthy layoff has led to his omission from Forest’s Premier League squad list, which was submitted on Thursday.
