NPFL wrap-up: Enyimba, Remo, Tornadoes pick away win as Pillars wallop Ikorodu City

The match day one of the 2024/2025 of the Nigeria Premier Football League season produced magnificent results on Sunday in which 3 away wins were recorded.

The league had earlier kicked off last weekend with champions Rangers International playing a 1-1 draw at home against El-Kanemi Warriors.

But the concluding part the day one produced a surprise results.

In Ilorin, Niger Tornadoes pipped Kwara United 2-1, it was Godstime Joseph who put the away team ahead in the 32nd minute before Sabiu Ibrahim doubled their lead in the 69th minute while Sadeeq Yusuf reduced the deficit for the host in the 90th minute.

It was Enyimba International who carried the day at the Dan Anyim stadium with a remarkable 1-3 win.

Suraj Lawal put Heartland FC ahead in the 53rd minute before goals from Ifeanyi Ihemekwele and Clinton Jeptha brace secured full points for the People’s Elephant.

Goals from Sadiq Ismail and Jide Fatokun gave Remo Stars a comfortable 0-2 away win against Abia Warriors in Umuahia.

Three second half goals from Mustapha Umar and Rabiu Ali brace gave Kano Pillars a resounding 3-0 win over the newly promoted Ikorodu City.

In Lafia, a last minute strike from Samuel Ayorinde gave Shooting Stars a valuable away draw against Nasarawa United, Anas Yusuf scored Nasarawa ‘s goal.

Olawale Doyeni lone strike gave Plateau United 1-0 win over Katsina United.

Seidu Salisu, Promise Awosanmi and Stephen Chukwude are the goals scorers for Sunshine Stars in the 3-0 win ovet Bayelsa United.
