The manager of Sunshine Stars Kennedy Boboye has explained the reason they suffered a humiliating defeat to Kwara United.
The Akure Gunners suffered a 3-0 defeat to the Afonja Warriors in the match day 7 of the Nigeria Premier Football League on Wednesday.
And Boboye has attributed the defeat to the poor state of the pitch.
“The pitch was part of the problem that affected our playing; not that we are not used to grass but the bone of contention was that the grass was not cut and badly maintained,”Boboye stated in a post-match interview.
“I don’t know how a pitch like that was approved for games and they failed cut it before the match-day.
“The field is over grown, the ball was not moving smoothly but on the contrary Kwara United were unperturbed as they are used to the turf.”
