Nigerian referee Yemisi Eunice Akintoye has been named among the 18 officials selected by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) to officiate at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
Akintoye, a member of the Lagos State Football Referees Council, earned her place after a strong showing during a preparatory course held in Cairo, Egypt.
The 30-year-old has previously officiated in both the WAFU Women’s Champions League and the CAF Women’s Champions League.
This year’s WAFCON finals will be hosted by Morocco from Saturday, July 5 to Saturday, July 26, 2025. South Africa’s Banyana Banyana will enter the tournament as the defending champions.
