Following the armed robbery attack suffered by the players and technical crew of El Kanemi Warriors, Nigerian legend Emmanuel Amuneke has urged sports administrators in the country to work on the safety of the players.
The Nigeria Premier Football League side was attacked by the men underworld on their return from Lagos after their game against Ikorodu City.
The former Super Eagles winger sympathized with the Federation Cup champions and hoped the stakeholders would work on the security of the teams.
“The safety of travelers, including our athletes, must be taken seriously. These armed bandits are creating a climate of fear, and it is time to act decisively to restore confidence on our roads,” Amuneke said.
