Abubakar Lawal, the talented Nigerian forward who played for Ugandan club Vipers SC, has tragically passed away following a motorcycle accident.

The accident occurred on Monday morning along Entebbe Road in Kampala, as reported by Ugandan journalist Clive Kyazze.

Lawal was widely admired for his skill on the field and his warm personality off it. His teammates will remember him not only for his contributions to the team but also for his crucial goals, including a standout strike in the CAF Champions League.

His untimely passing serves as a heartbreaking reminder of life’s fragility. In the coming days, Vipers SC and the broader football community will unite to honor his memory, celebrating the impact he made both on and off the pitch.

Lawal’s absence will be deeply felt, but his legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew him. Just three days before the tragedy, he was an unused substitute in Vipers’ Uganda Cup victory over Mbarara City.
