Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau (MON), President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), has been appointed as the new President of the West African Football Union (WAFU) Zone B.

His appointment follows the resignation of Ghana Football Association President, Mr. Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku, who vacated the position after being elected to the Executive Committee of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) two months ago.

According to WAFU B headquarters in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, Gusau “enjoys strong support among the zone’s members to bring continuity and dynamism to WAFU Zone B.”

Gusau, who has led the NFF since 30th September 2022, previously served as the First Vice President of WAFU B before this latest promotion.

The announcement comes just a day after Nigeria’s U20 team, the Flying Eagles, clinched bronze at the 2025 Africa U20 Cup of Nations in Egypt, securing a spot at the FIFA U20 World Cup.
