The Nigeria Football Federation has announced Aliyu Zubairu as the head coach of the Nigeria’s Flying Eagles.
The U20 team has been without a coach since the Federation parted ways with Ladan Bosso who has been in charge of the team in the last two years.
Zubairu caught the attention of the game stakeholders after leading the El Kanemi Warriors back to the Nigeria Premier Football League.
He also masterminded the team winning the 2024 Federation Cup beating Abia Warriors 2-0 in the final.
Zubairu’s immediate task is to put together and prepare a team for the WAFU B U-20 Championship.
The competition is scheduled for October/November in Togo, where the zone’s representative will emerge for next year’s Africa U-20 Cup of Nations.
