Bayer Leverkusen continued their dominant Bundesliga campaign with a commanding 4-1 away victory over Eintracht Frankfurt, with Nigeria’s Super Eagles midfielder Nathan Tella playing a key role.
Tella opened the scoring in the 26th minute, capitalizing on a perfectly weighted pass from Swiss international Granit Xhaka. Just three minutes later, Nordi Mukiele doubled the lead with a close-range finish before Patrick Schick made it 3-0 in the 33rd minute, converting Alex Grimaldo’s precise delivery.
Frankfurt pulled one back before halftime through Hugo Ekitike, but any hopes of a comeback were dashed in the 63rd minute when Aleix Garcia fired in a stunning long-range strike to seal the win for the reigning champions.
Tella’s goal was a personal milestone, marking his 10th for Leverkusen. Since joining the club, the 25-year-old has also contributed seven assists in 70 appearances, further cementing his influence in the squad.
