After months of extensive renovations, Morocco’s iconic Mohammed V Stadium in Casablanca is officially back in action, ready to host matches for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.

Closed since October 2023, the stadium has undergone a full transformation to align with CAF and FIFA standards. The upgrades include expanded seating capacity, modernized VIP and press areas, numbered seats, and a complete overhaul of the surrounding infrastructure — including the Olympic swimming pool and the stadium’s exterior.

Access routes for team buses have also been significantly improved, offering a smoother and more efficient arrival experience compared to the previous layout.

This renovation is part of Morocco’s broader national initiative to modernize its stadiums, not only for the upcoming AFCON but also in preparation for the 2030 FIFA World Cup, which the country will co-host with Spain and Portugal.

Fouzi Lekjaa, president of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF), had pledged the stadium would be ready by the end of March 2025 — a promise that has now been fulfilled.
