Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah has been named the Premier League Player of the Season for the second time in his career.

The 32-year-old Egyptian star previously claimed the prestigious award in the 2017-18 season. This year, he earned the accolade through a combination of public votes and selections from a panel of football experts, after playing a key role in guiding Liverpool to the league title.

Salah edged out strong competition, including Liverpool teammates Virgil van Dijk and Ryan Gravenberch. Gravenberch, 23, who topped all Premier League midfielders with 59 interceptions and led Liverpool in possession recoveries, was named Young Player of the Season.

Other contenders for the main award included Arsenal duo Morgan Gibbs-White and Declan Rice, Newcastle striker Alexander Isak, Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo, and Nottingham Forest’s Chris Wood.

Notably, this marks the first time since the 2018-19 season that no Manchester City player has won the award.
