Manchester City defender Manuel Akanji does not hide what he thinks about the tight match schedule in England.

Several players and coaches have already criticized the packed match schedule, and now Manchester City defender Manuel Akanji has joined the chorus.

“It’s too hard. You don’t just think about this season – but also the next one.

Let’s say we win the league or cup, then get to the final of the Club World Cup, then the Community Shield three weeks after that.

When are we going on holiday? There’s no break in the winter either, so if we’re lucky we end up with two weeks off before we have to go back and start the next season.

And then there is the WC next summer. There is no end to it, says the Swiss told Goal.

Akanji has represented Manchester City since September 2022.

Since then, there have been 127 appearances for club and national team, and according to the defender, that is too much.
