Argentina International Lionel Messi has demanded for compensation from a group of climate activists.
The Argentine star footballer is demanding 50,000 euros in damages after his villa on Ibiza was defaced with paint earlier this month.
Messi is currently in Miami, working on his recovery after an ankle injury sustained in the Copa America final.
In the meantime, news reached him that some 7,500 kilometres away on Ibiza, his villa – which includes a cinema and an extensive wellness area – had been defaced with red and black paint by members of the climate group Futuro Vegetal.
He is now demanding 50,000 euros in damages from Futuro Vegetal. Bilbo Bassaterra, the spokesman for the action group, finds this sum very exaggerated and is not impressed.
