Bruno Genesio, manager of French Ligue 1 club LOSC Lille, has emphasized that newly signed striker Chuba Akpom must familiarize himself with the club’s principles.
Akpom marked his debut for Lille with a goal, despite the team’s defeat. The coach praised his performance but urged the forward to continue developing in upcoming matches.
“Scoring is always a positive sign for a striker. Chuba was opportunistic in that moment. However, he is still in the process of adapting to our style of play,” Genesio said on the club’s official website.
“He still needs to grasp certain principles and understand the expectations here. It’s great that he scored—it will boost his confidence and hopefully contribute to our success as the season progresses.”
