LOSC Lille goalkeeper Lucas Chevalier has praised Nigerian forward Chuba Akpom, describing him as a versatile and dynamic player.
Akpom, who joined the French Ligue 1 side from Ajax Amsterdam during the winter transfer window, has made an immediate impact, scoring two goals in his last two matches.
“I’m happy for him [Chuba Akpom]. He plays in the same position as Jonathan, but he has a different profile,” Chevalier said.
“He can even play on the wing. He’s faster, more into dribbling and percussion, whereas Jonas [David] is more of a player who focuses on positioning and finishing.”
“He will likely take on a more off-center role. He has a certain power and offers an alternative for long balls, which was something we previously lacked. We can already feel the added value he brings,” the goalkeeper added.
