Italian football legend Fabio Cannavaro has revealed the reason he turned down the opportunity to handle Nigeria’s Super Eagles.
Since the voluntary resignation of George Finidi the 3-time African champions has being without a substantive coach.
Former Real Madrid defender said he prefer to wait on the opportunity to handle teams either in Italy or Europe.
“I had offers from Nigeria [national team] and Iranian clubs, but I want to wait for Serie A and European clubs until December.
“After that, I may start travelling again,” La Gazzetta dello Sport.
The technical director of the Nigeria Football Federation Austin Eguavoen is expected to be on the team’s bench for the upcoming qualifiers.
