Nigeria’s Super Falcons cruised past Cameroon’s Indomitable Lionesses with a 2-0 victory in an international friendly match held Tuesday at the MKO Abiola Sports Complex in Abeokuta.
Team captain Rasheedat Ajibade led by example, netting both goals—first converting a penalty in the 28th minute, then finishing off a slick team move in the 43rd minute, with an assist from Rinsola Babajide.

Coach Justine Madugu praised the result, describing it as a timely morale boost as the team intensifies preparations for the 13th Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), scheduled for July 5–26 in Morocco.
The Super Falcons, nine-time champions since the tournament’s inception in 1998, will be eyeing a record-extending 10th title. Nigeria also emerged winners in 1991 and 1995, when the competition served as a qualifier for the FIFA Women’s World Cup.
