West Bromwich Albion manager Tony Mowbray has confirmed that Nigerian internationals Semi Ajayi and Josh Maja are set to return to action next week after recovering from injuries.

Maja, who has scored 12 goals this season, has been sidelined since January. He recently returned to training, albeit with protective gear, as he continues his rehabilitation. The forward, who also struggled with injuries last season, has yet to feature under Mowbray’s management.

Meanwhile, Super Eagles defender Ajayi suffered a hamstring injury just two games after making his comeback from a similar issue last month.

Although the duo is unlikely to be fit in time for this weekend’s clash against Norwich City, Mowbray expects them to be available for upcoming matches.

“I think they will need another week or maybe two after the international break, and then there’s a realistic chance they could be ready,” Mowbray said.

Ajayi’s injury also ruled him out of Nigeria’s World Cup qualifying doubleheader against Rwanda and Zimbabwe.
