Kelechi Iheanacho netted his first goal for Middlesbrough in their 2-1 win over Oxford United in the Championship on Saturday.

Oxford took the lead just before halftime through Michael Helik, momentarily silencing the home crowd.

However, Iheanacho, who had been searching for his debut goal for the club, equalized in the 48th minute. It marked his eighth league appearance under manager Michael Carrick.

Neto Borges sealed the win for Middlesbrough with a goal 10 minutes from time, assisted by Samuel Iling-Junior.

The victory lifted Middlesbrough to seventh place with 57 points from 39 matches, while Oxford sits in 19th place with 42 points.
