Odion Ighalo and his club, Al Wehda, have been relegated from the Saudi Pro League following a dramatic 2-1 defeat to Al Ettifaq in their final match of the season.

Heading into the game, Al Wehda needed a win to secure their place in the top flight but fell short despite a valiant effort. Ighalo, who contributed six goals and two assists this season, was unable to add to his tally on the crucial day.

Al Ettifaq took the lead just before halftime through Abdullah Radif, but Al Wehda leveled the score in the 70th minute via Jawad El Yamiq. However, their hopes were dashed when they conceded a stoppage-time winner.

The loss leaves Al Wehda in 16th place with 33 points, just behind Al Okhdood in 15th. A victory would have seen them avoid the drop.

As a result, Ighalo and Al Wehda will play in the Saudi First Division League next season.
