France coach Herve Renard has revealed reason he ignored the offer to handle the Super Eagles of Nigeria.
Former Saudi Arabia coach was among the candidates touted to take over the Super Eagles of Nigeria job following the exits of Jose Peseiro.
The deal failed to materialised and the Nigeria Football Federation settled for a local coach.
Renard claimed the offer was the best from Nigeria but other details did not favour him.
“I almost went to Nigeria. I weighed the pros and cons for a few days, even weeks, before eventually turning it down,”Renard told French outlet L’Équipe.
“It was the best offer I’ve had so far, but it didn’t suit me in the end.”
Renard is presently unattached following his resignation as the coach of the France Women’s national team.
