Barcelona coach Hansi Flick shared his frustration following their Champions League elimination against Inter, calling the result “unfair” and suggesting several refereeing decisions favored the Italian side.
“We’re all very disappointed—we gave everything in this game,” Flick said. “Some of the 50-50 calls went Inter’s way. That’s football. I’m proud of my players. The result doesn’t reflect our efforts, and while some of the referee’s decisions were good, they just didn’t go in our favor. Inter deserved it, and their fans were fantastic. We’ll come back stronger next season.”
When questioned about Polish referee Szymon Marciniak’s officiating, Flick was guarded. “I don’t want to say too much—it wouldn’t be fair to my players who gave a great performance. I spoke to the referee already and said what I needed to say.”
Despite his disappointment, Flick gave credit to Inter and coach Simone Inzaghi for their performance. “Inter’s forwards were excellent today—strong, experienced, and smart with the ball. We have a young team that needs to grow, especially in both attack and defense.”
He concluded with a message of respect and sportsmanship: “Since I spoke about the referee earlier, I want to also say this—I wish Inter the best of luck in the final in Munich. They played a great match
