Granada FC honours Odion Ighalo

Odion Ighalo, former Super Eagles forward, has been honored by Granada, a Spanish football club.

The lanky attacker, who is currently on the books of Saudi Pro League side Al-Wehdah, was on loan to the Spanish side from Udinese in the 2009/2010 season.

 

The 35-year-old former Watford striker also took to his social media handle to express gratitude for the honour.

“Today is one of the happiest days of my life. 10 years later I return to my house, the one that gave me everything. I am very happy to be here!,” he wrote on X.

“Thank you for supporting this club in all situations. And I hope one day my Granada can belong to the Granadans!! A big hug to all my fans! Without a doubt the best in the world.”

The Nigerian footballer was applauded from the first moment he stepped onto the pitch at Nuevo Los Cármenes.

He played 132 games with the red and white shirt and scored 37 goals .

The most memorable was the one that gave the club promotion to the First Division on 18 June 2011 at the Martínez Valero in Elche.
