Former football coach Sven-Göran Eriksson has died at the age of 76.
The Swede announced in January that he was battling pancreatic cancer and did not have long to live.
Eriksson was the first foreigner to become England’s national coach.
He was in charge of the England national team from 2001 to 2006. The coach took ‘The Three Lions’ to three major tournaments, but never reached the quarter-finals.
At the 2002 World Cup, England were knocked out by Brazil, while at the 2004 and 2006 European Championships, the team were defeated by Portugal.
After his time with England, Eriksson was also coach of Mexico, Ivory Coast and the Philippines.
