Fulham manager Marco Silva has thrown down the gauntlet to Nigerian winger Samuel Chukwueze, urging him to work hard and claim a permanent spot in the starting lineup.

Chukwueze joined the London side last summer from Italian Serie A giants AC Milan, and he delivered an impressive performance in Fulham’s narrow win over Sunderland last weekend, contributing a crucial assist.

Speaking after the game, Silva praised the Super Eagles star but emphasized the need for consistency and greater intensity.

“He (Chukwueze) had a huge impact. It was a great assist from him, and we’re pleased for him. Now we need him to start games and keep the intensity throughout the 90 minutes,” Silva told Fulham’s official website.

The Portuguese tactician encouraged the skilful winger to continue pushing hard in training to earn a regular starting role, noting that competition within the squad is key to the team’s progress.

Chukwueze will hope to build on the performance as Fulham continues the season, aiming to cement his place in the first team.
