Morocco made history on Sunday night as they defeated Argentina 1-0 in the final of the FIFA U-20 World Cup Chile 2025 to claim their first-ever title at this level.

The North Africans, who have been one of the tournament’s most disciplined and tactically impressive sides, sealed the victory thanks to a first-half strike from Zabiri, whose precise finish in the 28th minute proved decisive.

Played at the Estadio Nacional in Santiago, the final saw Argentina  six-time champions  dominate possession, but Morocco’s well-organized defence and composed midfield display kept them at bay throughout the encounter.

Despite relentless pressure from the South Americans in the second half, Morocco held firm, with goalkeeper Yassine El Amrani pulling off a string of crucial saves to preserve their narrow lead.

When the final whistle sounded, the Moroccan players and technical crew erupted in celebration, marking a proud moment for African football.

With this triumph, Morocco became only the second African nation in history to win the FIFA U-20 World Cup, underlining the continent’s growing presence on the global stage.
