FIFA Rankings: Nigeria move up 3 places, as Argentina retain top spot

World soccer governing body has released the latest ranking for the month of October and World champion Argentina retained it’s top spot.

After losing to Colombia in the 2026 World Cup qualifier, Argentina has won all their recent matches in the qualifier and it improved their point on the ranking table.

The Albaceletes garnered 1883.5 to maintain the top spot ahead of France, Spain, England and Brazil who are ranked in top 5.

 

Meanwhile, the recent good of the Nigeria’s Super Eagles in the 2025 African Cup of Nations qualifier qualifier has yielded a good dividends for the team as they moved up in the ranking.

The Nigerian side moved up 3 places to 36th position as against their previous 39th position with 1503.29 points.
