FIFA has unveiled a new honour, the “FIFA Peace Prize  Football Unites the World,” designed to recognise individuals who have made exceptional contributions to promoting peace and unity through football.

The award celebrates those whose extraordinary efforts have brought people together across nations, reflecting FIFA’s enduring belief that football is a universal force for connection. Representing over five billion football enthusiasts globally, the prize embodies the spirit of FIFA’s motto — “Football Unites the World.”

By inspiring joy, hope, and togetherness among women and men, boys and girls, the football community continues to play a pivotal role in fostering peace. The new award aims to formally acknowledge individuals whose commitment and actions have helped strengthen harmony and understanding worldwide.

The FIFA Peace Prize will be presented annually, with the inaugural edition to be awarded by FIFA President Gianni Infantino on Friday, 5 December 2025, during the Final Draw for the FIFA World Cup 26 in Washington, D.C.
