The International Basketball Federation (FIBA) has announced that the draw for the 2027 FIBA World Cup qualifiers will take place on May 13, 2025.
A total of 80 nations, including Nigeria’s D’Tigers, secured their spots in the qualifiers after advancing through their respective Continental Championships.
The qualifiers will feature six windows, with teams playing two home-and-away games per window, except for Africa, where teams will compete in a tournament format to earn their World Cup berths.
The participating teams include 16 from Africa, 16 from the Americas, 32 from Europe, and 16 from Asia and Oceania.
