FIBA Rankings: D’Tigress climb three places

Nigeria’s D’Tigress have moved up three places in the latest FIBA Women’s Basketball World Rankings following their dominant display at the 2025 Women’s Afrobasket Championship in Ivory Coast.

The reigning African champions defeated Mali in the final to secure their fifth consecutive continental title.

According to the updated rankings released on Thursday afternoon, D’Tigress now sit 8th in the world, climbing from 11th position. Their Afrobasket triumph earned them 640.1 points, cementing their status as the highest-ranked team in Africa.

In addition to winning the championship, D’Tigress also booked their spot in the FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup qualifying tournament.
