Nigeria National League (NNL) side, Abakaliki FC, pulled off a major upset by eliminating top-tier giants Enyimba FC from the 2025 President Federation Cup.
The Ebonyi-based underdogs secured a commanding 2-0 victory over the People’s Elephant in the Round of 16 clash held at the Stephen Keshi Stadium in Asaba. With the shock result, Abakaliki FC advance to the quarterfinals where they’ll face Nasarawa United at a yet-to-be-announced venue.
Elsewhere, Rangers International edged past Bendel Insurance with a 1-0 win courtesy of a penalty converted by Godwin Obaje in Lagos. Akwa United also booked their place in the last eight with a narrow 1-0 victory over Inter Lagos.
Nasarawa United triumphed 5-3 on penalties against Bayelsa United after a 1-1 draw in regulation time, while Ikorodu City cruised past Beyond Limits 2-0.
