Former Nigeria’s Super Eagles coach Jose Peseiro has revealed the reason he left his role as the coach of the team.
Despite leading Super Eagles to the final of the 2023 African Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast, the Portuguese gaffer decided to part ways with the team.
The coach confirmed in an interview that the stress of the job was too much.
” There was too much stress”.
” I had the support of my staff and the best from my players , but it wasn’t enough”.
” I want to win AFCON for the fans, the government and for everyone but even before the tournament, I had already decided to leave”.
” Even if I had won the trophy, I would have still left”, he said.
Since leaving Nigeria, Peseiro is yet to be contracted to any team.
