Ruben Amorim started his career as Manchester United coach with a draw. The game ended in a 1-1 draw on Sunday evening at Ipswich Town.
The 39-year-old Portuguese seemed to be making a dream start after his team took the lead after 80 seconds of play at Portman Road, where all 30,000 seats were occupied.
Marcus Rashford finished off a cross from Amad Diallo, after a fine attack that started with goalkeeper André Onana. United were in control for a long time after that, but Ipswich Town equalised shortly before half-time.
Omari Hutchinson was played in by Wes Burns, turned open and curled the ball beautifully into the far corner with his left foot.
In the second half, both teams went for the win, but no more goals were scored. Amorim brought on two fresh strikers in the 68th minute, Joshua Zirkzee and Rasmus Højlund, but they couldn’t make the difference either.
Liverpool lead the table with 31 points , already eight points ahead of defending champions Manchester City who travel to Anfield next week.
