Leicester City has confirmed that long-serving striker Jamie Vardy will depart the club at the end of the season, bringing an end to a remarkable 13-year journey at the King Power Stadium.
Vardy, 38, joined the Foxes in 2012 from non-league side Fleetwood Town and went on to become the club’s all-time leading Premier League scorer, with 198 goals in 498 appearances.
One of his most iconic achievements came during the 2015-16 season, when he scored 24 league goals to help Leicester City secure a historic first Premier League title.
Reflecting on his departure, Vardy shared a heartfelt message with fans in a video posted by the club on social media.
“To the fans of Leicester, I’m gutted that this day is coming, but I knew it would eventually,” he said. “I’ve spent 13 unbelievable years at this club. There have been ups and downs, but mostly highs.
“It’s finally time to call it a day. I’m devastated, but I believe the timing is right.”
