William Troost-Ekong, the assistant captain of the Super Eagles, has shared his reaction to the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations draw, which was revealed on Monday.
Nigeria has been drawn into Group C alongside Tunisia, Uganda, and Tanzania.
The Al Khalood defender expressed his enthusiasm about the draw, noting that the team is prepared for the challenge ahead.
“The AFCON 2025 draw is now done, and it’s exciting to see the groups. Tunisia, Uganda, and Tanzania are three teams that deserve respect,” Troost-Ekong told the Super Eagles media.
“We’ve gained valuable experience and know how to handle situations like this. There are no easy games in Africa anymore; that’s a well-known fact.”
“That said, I believe we have what it takes to progress from this group and go all the way. We learned a lot from last year’s AFCON in Abidjan.”
“This time, we’ll be better prepared, working hard throughout the year to ensure everyone is fit and ready.”
“We’re looking forward to playing under the new coach. It’s going to be an exciting year, and I’m very pleased with the AFCON draw,” he concluded.
