The World soccer governing body on Friday morning announced nominations for its award for 2024.
Nigeria’s quartet of Asisat Oshoala, Ademola Lookman, William Troost Ekong and Paul Onuachu featured prominently on the list.
Atalanta forward Lookman and Al Khalood defender Ekong has their name in the team of the year, Oshoala will compete for honour in the Marta’s award while Onuachu was nominated for Puskas award.
The winner of the FIFA Fan Award will be chosen entirely by fans, while the recipient of the FIFA Fair Play Award will be decided by an expert panel.
Voting for the new FIFA Marta Award and the FIFA Puskás Award will be split equally between fans and a panel of FIFA Legends.
