Nigerian winger Bright Ejuke has shed light on why his compatriot Kelechi Iheanacho struggled during his time at Sevilla.
Iheanacho joined the Spanish club last summer after his contract with Leicester City expired but failed to secure regular playing time. As a result, he moved to English Championship side Middlesbrough on loan.
Ejuke pointed to adaptation as a key factor in Iheanacho’s difficulties at Sevilla.
“You can’t take anything away from Iheanacho, to be honest, because we all know who he is,” Ejuke said.
“With his quality and his success in the Premier League with Leicester City, he’s a top-level player with a lot of talent.”
“The adaptation probably hasn’t been easy, but that doesn’t diminish his ability.”
“He’s been out for a while, but hopefully, he’ll return in the next phase of the season and pick up where he left off,” he told La Colina de Nervión.
