Defending champions Bayer Leverkusen proved their worth once in Germany with a decent victory over the German Bundesliga leader Bayern Munich.

Both sides clashed in the 3rd round of the DFB Pokal on Tuesday evening, and it ended in a narrow 1-0 win for the current holder of the trophy, Bayer Leverkusen.

Nigeria’s Super Eagles midfielder Nathan Tella was the hero of the game as he scored the winning goal to earn Leverkusen a well-deserved victory.

The former Southampton player has been in and out of the team this season due to loss of form and injury worries.

But he made his return into the team count as scored the deciding goal at the Allianz Arena.
