Cyriel Dessers has been crowned Rangers’ top scorer for the 2024/25 season.

The Nigerian forward received the honour during the club’s Player Awards Ceremony on Sunday night, marking his first individual accolade since joining the Light Blues.

Dessers, 30, found the net in Rangers’ 2-2 draw against St Mirren last Saturday, continuing his impressive form. He has now scored 24 goals across all competitions this season under manager Barry Ferguson.

He succeeds club captain James Tavernier, who claimed the top scorer title in the 2023/24 campaign.

Last season, Dessers was also nominated for Rangers’ Goal of the Season award but narrowly missed out to Rabbi Matondo, who won for his memorable strike in the Old Firm derby against Celtic.
