Despite a staggering to the competition, Nigerian table team secured it’s passage to the World Group II in the Davis Cup.
The Nigerian team comprises of Christopher Bulus and Michael Emmanuel started the competition on a losing note in Abuja venue of the event but came back stronger to beàt their counterpart from Ghana in the final game.
They defeated the duo of Abraham Asaba and Isaac Nortey 6-3, 6-2.
After the conclusion of the competition, Ghana and Côte d’Ivoire were relegated to Group IV, while the Benin Republic remained in Africa Group III.
Nigeria joined the duo of Zimbabwe and Namibia in the World group II.
