David Moyes, who left West Ham at the end of last season, returns to Goodison Park after previously managing the club from 2002 to 2013.

The 61-year-old replaces Sean Dyche, who was dismissed on Thursday. His contract is set to run until 2027.

In a statement released by the club, Moyes said, “It’s great to be back! I had 11 fantastic and successful years at Everton, and when the opportunity to return was presented, I didn’t hesitate. I’m eager to work with The Friedkin Group and help them rebuild this great club.

“We now need Goodison Park and all Evertonians to support the players during this crucial season so that we can secure our place in the Premier League and move into our exciting new stadium.”
