At least five Nigerian players are poised to feature at the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup in the United States.
This year’s competition will see the number of participating teams increase to 32 — allowing for greater representation from clubs across the globe, with at least three from Africa.
One of those clubs, Esperance of Tunisia, boasts 22-year-old forward Onuche Ogbelu, who will be eager to make his mark on the big stage.
Meanwhile, Saudi Pro League side Al Ain includes a trio of Nigerian players in its ranks: left-winger Rilwanu Haliru Sarki, forward Joshua Udoh, and goalkeeper Hassan Sani Mohammed.
Super Eagles defender Zaidu Sanusi is also set to be in action during the Club World Cup, representing FC Porto.
The tournament runs from June 14 to July 15
