As the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations approaches, Super Falcons goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie has acknowledged the difficulty of Nigeria’s group.

Drawn alongside Botswana, Tunisia, and Algeria in the tournament set to take place in Morocco, the 11-time champions face a tough challenge, despite what some may believe.

Speaking to CAF media, the Paris FC shot-stopper stressed the importance of approaching the tournament with full commitment.

“People might think it’s a manageable group, but the reality is very different,” Nnadozie said.

“Women’s football has advanced significantly in recent years. Every team is getting better, working hard, and investing in development.”

She pointed to the last WAFCON as evidence that no team should be taken lightly: “We saw it in the last AFCON—many of the favourites were shaken. No one can be underestimated anymore.”

“This group is tricky, and we have to treat it with the seriousness it deserves. Qualification won’t be handed to us; we’ll need to earn it through hard work and discipline.”
