If found guilty Chelsea winger Mychalo Murdryk could face a lengthy ban for drug use.

The reports broke on Tuesday morning that the Ukrainian International has been tested positive for a drug use.

He has come out to deny the claim and further said the club has commenced investigation into the allegations.

“This comes as a complete surprise, because I have never consciously used prohibited substances or violated any rules. I am working closely with my club to find out how this could have happened,” the footballer writes on Instagram.

Chelsea said in a statement that it is cooperating with the relevant authorities in the investigation into the positive test. It is not known what drug was involved.

The 23-year-old Moedryk has not played for Chelsea since November 28. Coach Enzo Maresca announced that Moedryk was ill.
