Gabriel Jesus on Wednesday night the Brazilian woke up for real and scored a hat-trick to send Arsenal into the Carabao Cup semi-finals with a 3-2 victory over Crystal Palace.
Jean-Philippe Mateta gave Crystal Palace a dream start at the Emirates in the fourth minute, with Jakub Kiwior going completely wrong with a long ball.
Raheem Sterling had a good free kick attempt after half an hour, but Arsenal failed to get on the board in the first half.
In the second half Jesus lobbed the ball into the goal to make it 1-1 after 54 minutes, before he put Arsenal in front with an excellent finish just 20 minutes later.
It got even better in the 81st minute, when Arsenal made it 3-1, and of course Jesus was on the scoresheet again.
Mikel Arteta’s troops reached the semi-finals of the Carabao Cup at the expense of Crystal Palace.
