Lamia Boumedhi the coach of TP Mazembe has opened up on the secret of their victory over Nigeria’s Edo Queens.
Despite going down midway into the second half, TP Mazembe recovered late in the game to level up and won the game 3-1 in the extra time.
The coach laid emphasis on mental strength and focus as the reason they won the game.
“I am very happy and satisfied with this final result. And I take this opportunity to congratulate my players who played a great match. They poured their hearts out and played with grit”.
“Our secret for this match was mental strength. Before this match, I told my players to stay focused until the referee’s final whistle even if we conceded a goal. Because we knew we were facing a good team and we would have to stay focused until the end of the match”, she said.
